Ever have a computer crash, break a phone, or have a device stolen only for all those photos and memories that were stored on it also go into the ether because you had no other copies or backups? Get your negatives and get them sleeved.
Undead Film Lab returns all negatives free of charge and actively encourages customers to collect them once receiving your scans. For just a mere $2 (less than the price of a cup of coffee, yikes) we will even sleeve them and get them ready for archival storage. Discarding your negatives is like throwing away the original recordings to your favorite song after downloading them on Spotify.
Once you have your negatives (kudos if they are sleeved and stored in an archival binder) you can do the following with them:

Unfortunately it’s not uncommon to lose scans. Most people store all files in one central location; whether it’s your hard drive on a computer or your phone it’s likely to fail eventually. If you took care of those negatives those images won’t be lost.
Developing at home and sending to a lab for scanning.
Developing at home (especially black and white) is a lot of fun. However getting high quality scans can be difficult if you don’t have a dedicated camera scanner set up, flat bed, or commercial lab scanner. Because of this many home developers often send negatives into a lab for high quality scanning solutions.
Rescanning for higher resolutions or editing.
The number one reason most people rescan their negatives is for higher resolution scans or to edit .Tiff files. Whether it’s to adjust colors in a .Tiff file or to print your photos so they can be displayed on a wall as intended by Mr. Eastman himself this is all possible by storing your negatives. Without your negatives that standard scan is as good as it’s going to get.
